According to a news release, the healthcare payments and pricing company Zelis has completed the acquisition of Payer Compass, which provides reimbursement and claims pricing, administration, and processing solutions for healthcare organizations.
As a consequence, Zelis will be able to increase the accessibility of its clients to healthcare services outside of its network.
We’re pleased to complete the purchase of Payer Compass and unite our operations, said Amanda Eisel, CEO of Zelis.
Zelis is on a mission to make healthcare more affordable for everyone, and the effective combination of our staff and technology helps us get there.
Greg Everett, CEO of Payer Compass, similarly voiced the “excitement” of his organization at joining Zelis and expanding its reach and offerings to healthcare payers and their members.
“This is a chance to improve healthcare pricing rationale.”
Zelis and Payer Compass intend to use cutting-edge technology and “best-of-breed methodologies” to create pricing strategies that will be compatible with customers’ escalating healthcare expenditures.
At the time, Eisel stated that by combining our resources, “we’ll have the people, technology, and shared enthusiasm to achieve additional savings for our clients and continue to favorably affect healthcare’s escalating costs and complexity.”
Additionally, it happened after Zelis also bought Sapphire Digital, a platform for healthcare consumer digital navigation, patient access, provider selection, and price transparency.
According to Eisel at the time, the purpose of the acquisition was to give clients options to “harmonize the full healthcare payment process by pricing, paying, and discussing healthcare.”
Through the integration of payments and communication with Sapphire’s consumer navigation capabilities, the Sapphire acquisition was promoted as a solution to assist Zelis in streamlining its operations.
In 2019, Zelis combined its payment systems with those of RedCard Systems, which aided in the development of a platform for healthcare optimization.
