Unified Health Interface (UHI), much as UPI did for financial transactions in India, would change the delivery of digital health services, according to Dr. R. S. Sharma, CEO of the National Health Authority.
IFTA 2022 will be held at the India Financial Forum, a non-profit that supports Indian fintech businesses. It will take place online between November 28 and 29 and in person in Mumbai on November 30.
Because of UPI, India is currently the largest real-time payments participant in the world. UPI transactions recently surpassed all credit and debit card transactions combined in terms of volume.
“UHI makes it simpler for health care service providers to conduct business by providing them with access to a huge consumer base via a common platform.
This paradigm shift in healthcare delivery also opens up a ton of potential for the growing HealthTech industry. He went on, “Greater innovation and the emergence of new services in digital health that were not previously possible are made possible by a rapidly growing sector of the industry.
The most recent fintech initiative for immediate payment to healthcare service providers in the AB-PMJAY healthcare system, according to Dr. Sharma, is e-RUPI. It is a unique, goal-specific digital tool constructed using the UPI architecture.
He continued, “e-RUPI will have many use cases: to start with health, nutrition, education, and agriculture are just a few areas that are going to benefit from it. e-RUPI is already being used by several states for a variety of benefit delivery programs in their states.
