The book “Connected Wellness: What’s Next In The Connected Economy” delves into the intricacies of the preventative healthcare wave sweeping the United States. We questioned 3,213 customers about their usage of digital healthcare technologies.

Internet users are using it to take charge of their health. Since November 2021, the number of consumers using some type of preventative healthcare technology has been steadily increasing, reaching previously unseen highs in August at 57% of consumers.

More than any other type of preventative healthcare tool, mental healthcare applications are employed. Consumers’ use of mental health items such as meditation apps and mood boosters has grown 32% since November 2021, whereas their use of wearables such as Fitbit and Apple Watch to track vitals has increased just 17% over the same time period.

The most connected 10% of consumers are 1.65 times more likely than the average consumer to engage in preventative healthcare behaviors. These “integrated tech” clients not only own more connected devices than the general public, but they also use those devices more frequently for digital healthcare activities.
