According to a news release, the deal would integrate Luma’s platform with Salucro’s financial engagement solutions to make it easier for clients to collect payments.
“Both Salucro and Luma believe that patients’ financial journeys are an important component of their overall success in obtaining the care they seek,” Luma’s co-founder and chief technology officer Aditya Bansod noted. “Our partnership simplifies payment for patients to the level of a single text message while also improving operational operations for healthcare workers.”
The relationship includes LumaFinancial, Luma’s financial journey product that debuted earlier this summer.
LumaFinancial offers LumaPay, a service that allows patients to pay their bills via text messages or the websites of their providers. It automatically solicits co-pays from patients with planned appointments via text messages and collects the co-pay via text message links that interact with the healthcare provider’s payment system.
According to the statement, “Salucro’s health information system links allow payment transaction data to be posted in many systems concurrently, minimizing the need for additional paperwork by staff.”
The companies indicated that they intend to collaborate on new technologies that would help patients and providers with payment and financial operations.
Clayton Bain, the founder and CEO of Salucro, stated that by collaborating with Luma, the firm would be able to provide its shared clients with the freedom to collect patient payments whenever, wherever, and however they are most likely to do so. “The Luma team is world-class, and this cooperation will help us both achieve our shared goal of improving patients’ financial experiences as part of their overall healthcare journeys.”
