SingHealth, Singapore’s largest public healthcare organization, has inked a multi-year deal to deploy Altera Digital Health’s SunriseTM portfolio of healthcare IT technologies. A leader in healthcare IT, Altera Digital Health was originally known as Allscripts Hospitals and Large Physician Practices.
The electronic medical record (EMR) platform from Altera Digital Health will continue to be supported by SingHealth under the terms of the agreement through 2029. The agreement, which was signed with Allscripts in 2017, is being extended. The SunriseTM Clinical Manager System, backed by the national HealthTech group Integrated Health Information Systems, has been utilized by SingHealth since 1998. (IHiS).
With more than 20,000 medical professionals working in its network of acute hospitals, national specialty centers, community hospitals, and polyclinics, which services more than half of Singapore’s population, SingHealth will continue to enhance its multidisciplinary and integrated care approach.
“We are incredibly thrilled to continue our partnership with SingHealth, which marks the first stage in our Altera journey in Singapore and the region,” said Marcus Perez, president of Altera Digital Health.
The Platform of Health will enable a future of healthcare with more interoperability, reduced information load, and support for value-based care for better health outcomes. Altera Digital Health is committed to developing this future.
Anna Grammare, General Manager of Altera Digital Health Singapore, stated, “Our partnership with SingHealth to provide our SunriseTM suite is a great indication of how we can provide healthcare ecosystems with the foundation for the Platform of Health.
Our platform approach is to enhance healthcare provision while easing the burden on medical staff and fostering healthier communities.
The SunriseTM solution suite is a complete, open platform that connects all aspects of care from many healthcare disciplines. The application programming interfaces (APIs)-equipped, the highly flexible platform will still be utilized by IHiS to connect with its suite of systems and adapt to SingHealth’s clinical practices for seamless interoperability. Utilizing SunriseTM will also give SingHealth and IHiS a platform on which to build their own healthcare IT solutions. This will enable its clinician-specific procedures to be more flexible, scalable, and expandable, perhaps leading to more seamless patient care.
Professor Ivy Ng, group chief executive officer of SingHealth, said: “As Singaporeans’ healthcare needs continue to change, SingHealth is committed to utilizing technology and digital solutions as essential enablers to enhance care delivery and clinical outcomes, maximize resources and enhance the patient experience. To enhance healthcare technology, we are encouraged to work with Altera Digital Health and the Integrated Health Information Systems (IHiS). To do this, we work to hasten technological advancement and offer more inventive responses to present and future healthcare issues.”
